The buckle on its own. Every Kore gun belt strap uses the same X-Series mount, so any buckle here fits any Kore 1.5″ strap you already own — swap it in a couple of minutes with the included hardware and the belt reads completely differently.
Why buy a gun belt buckle separately
Two reasons, and both are practical. The first is wardrobe: one strap and two buckles covers a suit and a range day without buying a second belt. The second is wear — a buckle takes the abuse, and replacing it is far cheaper than replacing a belt that is otherwise fine.
How the ratchet buckle works
There are no holes in a Kore belt. A toothed track runs inside the strap and the buckle engages it in quarter-inch increments, giving over 40 sizing positions instead of the five or six a punched belt offers. The release lever on the underside opens it. That is what lets you tighten a quarter inch when you hang a holster on the belt and let it back out when you sit down.
