Glock 43X vs Sig P365: Taller Grip, Same Width. Which to Carry?

Quick answer: The Glock 43X is taller than the base Sig P365. Glock lists the 43X at 5.04 inches tall with the magazine in, and Sig lists the P365 at 4.3 inches. The closer height match is the P365X (4.8 inches) or the P365-XMACRO (5.2 inches), so this page compares the 43X with all three. On width they’re the same on paper: Glock lists 1.10 inches for the 43X, and Sig lists 1.1 inches for the P365, P365X and XMACRO. Capacity is where they split. The 43X’s product page lists 10 rounds, against 10 for the P365, 12 for the P365X and 17 for the XMACRO. Glock has also announced a 15-round magazine for the 43X.

Sig lists inches to one decimal place, so differences against Glock’s figures are approximate. Glock’s height includes the magazine; Sig’s table doesn’t say. Sig also sells the P365X and XMACRO with a ROMEO-X optic installed and lists those versions taller: 5.5 inches and 6 inches. Sig’s original, non-optic-ready P365 (365-9-BXR3) is listed slightly narrower: 1.06 inches (27 mm).

Which P365 Should You Compare?

Sig sells several P365 models. Three of them matter here:

  • P365: 4.3 inches tall, 5.8 inches long, 10 rounds. Sig calls it a micro-compact.
  • P365X: the same 5.8-inch length and 3.1-inch barrel, with a 4.8-inch height and 12-round magazines.
  • P365-XMACRO: 5.2 inches tall, 6.6 inches long, with a 3.7-inch barrel and 17-round magazines. Sig calls it a compact.

Glock lists the 43X at 5.04 inches tall and 6.50 inches long. In height it falls between the P365X and the XMACRO. In length it’s within about a tenth of an inch of the XMACRO. Our Sig P365 vs P365X comparison covers the Sig models against each other.

Grip Height: The 43X Stands Taller Than the Base P365

The grip is the part that prints. When you bend, reach or sit, the bottom of the grip is what pushes out against your shirt.

Against the base P365, the 43X is about three-quarters of an inch taller (5.04 vs 4.3 inches). Against the P365X the gap is about a quarter inch (5.04 vs 4.8). The XMACRO is the tallest of the four at 5.2 inches. If a short grip is your main goal, the base P365 is the shortest gun on this page.

Width: The Same on Paper

Glock lists the 43X at 1.10 inches wide. Sig lists 1.1 inches for the P365, P365X and XMACRO. For the base P365, both makers also give the metric figure, and it’s the same: 28 mm. Inside the waistband, width adds to how far the gun and holster stand off your body, and here it doesn’t separate these guns.

Length and Weight: What Sits Below the Belt

Length is the part that sits inside the holster, below your belt. The 43X is 6.50 inches long, about 0.7 inches longer than the P365 and P365X (5.8 inches). The XMACRO is 6.6 inches. Carried appendix, the muzzle end of the holster is what presses into your thigh when you sit, and on a longer gun it reaches further down.

Weight is harder to compare, because the makers don’t list it the same way. Glock gives 16.40 ounces for the 43X with no magazine and 23.07 ounces with a loaded one. Sig lists 17.8 ounces for the P365 and P365X without saying whether a magazine is included, and 22 ounces “w/ magazine” for the XMACRO without saying whether that magazine is loaded. We won’t put a number on the difference. If weight matters to you, hold each one with a loaded magazine before you buy.

Capacity: 10 vs 10, 12 or 17, and Glock’s 15-Round Magazine

Glock’s 43X product page lists a 10-round standard magazine. Sig lists 10 rounds for the P365, 12 for the P365X and 17 for the XMACRO, and also sells 10-round versions of the P365X and XMACRO.

In April 2026, Glock announced that the G43X and G48 “will come standard with 15-round GLOCK magazines,” a metal, double-stack design that Glock said would reach dealers in May 2026. As of October 3, 2026, Glock’s G43X product page still lists 10 rounds as standard. Check the box or the dealer listing to see which magazine a given 43X ships with. With the 15-round magazine, the 43X holds more than the P365X’s 12 and fewer than the XMACRO’s 17.

Optics and Lights

Glock sells a 43X MOS with slide cuts for specific micro-optics, and says it doesn’t come with adapter plates. Sig sells the P365X and XMACRO with its ROMEO-X optic already installed. If you add an optic or a light, you’ll need a holster made for that gun with that setup.

Making Either One Comfortable to Carry

Whichever you choose, the grip needs to tuck in to stop printing. Three things do most of the work:

  • A claw or wing on the holster presses against your belt and rotates the grip in toward your body.
  • A wedge low on the body side of the holster pushes the muzzle end out, which tips the grip in. For printing, keep the fill fuller and mount it low. For comfort, start in the middle on fill and move it toward the edge that digs in. Our wedge placement guide shows where it goes.
  • A stiff gun belt keeps the holster from sagging. We carry Kore ratcheting gun belts.

We make the Cloudster Pillow, a soft holster wedge made of adjustable cooling-gel memory foam in a fabric cover. It attaches to the back of your holster with hook-and-loop Velcro and goes on any holster: Kydex, leather or hybrid. On leather or hybrid holsters, some owners make it semi-permanent with a dot of glue at the corners and center of the adhesive Velcro, or by lightly sanding the mounting spot with very fine-grit sandpaper. Both change your holster, so check its warranty first.

Which size? All four guns take the Standard with no light. Step up to the Deluxe for a weapon light, a sidecar mag carrier or a larger build. Keith, who founded Cloudster Pillow, has also used a Deluxe on his own P365 for more coverage. When in doubt, size up: a bigger pillow can be adjusted to feel smaller, but you can’t make a smaller pillow feel bigger.

Our size finder takes 30 seconds, or tell us your gun and holster and we’ll confirm. For holster setup, see our Glock 43X holster guide, Sig P365 holster guide and P365-XMACRO holster guide.

Glock 43X or Sig P365: How to Decide

Choose the Glock 43X if:

  • You can get the 15-round magazine, which holds more than the P365X’s 12
  • You want a longer barrel than the P365 or P365X: 3.41 inches against 3.1
  • A 5.04-inch-tall gun already hides on you

Choose the Sig P365 if:

  • Grip printing is your main problem: at 4.3 inches it’s the shortest gun here
  • You want the least gun below your belt: 5.8 inches long

Choose the P365X if:

  • You want the P365’s 5.8-inch length with a taller grip and 12 rounds

Choose the P365-XMACRO if:

  • You want the most capacity here: 17 rounds standard
  • A 5.2-inch-tall, 6.6-inch-long gun already hides on you
