Comfortable IWB Carry When You Sit All Day

Sitting is where most IWB carriers feel it: at a desk, in a car, on a couch. When you sit, your hips fold and your waistband shifts, which pushes the holster’s bottom edge into your body and the grip into your stomach or side. What helps:

1. Cushion the bottom edge. A soft wedge on the body side of the holster, toward the muzzle, keeps the edge from pressing in and tilts the grip in so it doesn’t jab you.
2. Drop the ride height a little if the grip hits your ribs or stomach when seated.
3. Let the belt out a notch when you sit. A ratcheting belt makes that one click instead of a buckle change.
4. Try moving the holster half an inch at a time. For appendix, many people are more comfortable slightly off center; for strong-side, just behind the hip bone.
5. Consider a shorter barrel if you’re choosing a gun: less barrel means less holster to press into your leg.
