Quick answer: Yes, the Cloudster Pillow works with CrossBreed’s Rogue; one of our customers runs it on a Rogue with a Hellcat Pro. It attaches with hook-and-loop to the body side of the holster, low toward the muzzle. CrossBreed also sells its own Concealment Wedge ($14.95: a dense foam core with a Lycra exterior, two sizes in the pack) and a polyester Comfort Backer ($14.95). Choose CrossBreed’s wedge if you want a fixed, fabric-covered wedge with two stack heights. Choose the Cloudster Pillow holster wedge if you want to set the thickness yourself with shredded cooling-gel memory foam. For a Glock 19, get the Deluxe.

Does the Cloudster Pillow Fit CrossBreed Holsters?

On the Rogue, yes. CrossBreed’s Rogue has a detachable magazine carrier and a concealment claw, and the pillow mounts with hook-and-loop on the side that faces your body. Loop strips and an alcohol wipe come with the pillow, so you have what you need for the first install. Tony D. runs his on a Rogue with a Hellcat Pro (see his review below).

The SuperTuck and MiniTuck are hybrids with a leather backing and a Kydex pocket, made for carry at 3:30 to 5 o’clock, and the leather is the side against your body. The Cloudster Pillow works on those too; it goes on any holster, whatever the material. Adhesive Velcro can hold less well on leather, so on a hybrid you can make it semi-permanent: put small spots of glue at the corners and center of the adhesive Velcro strip, or lightly sand the spot where the strip goes with very fine-grit sandpaper first. Both change the holster, so check the holster maker’s warranty before you do either.

CrossBreed also sells a neoprene MultiFlex Comfort Backer ($9.95) for its MultiFlex holster. Which should you get? CrossBreed’s wedge is the lower-cost pick if you carry one of the holsters it’s listed for, and the two sizes give you two fixed stack heights. The Comfort Backer is about cushioning the back of the holster rather than tilting it. Pick the Cloudster Pillow if you want to tune the thickness for your body and gun with memory-foam fill (extra loop strips are sold separately).

How to Install a Cloudster Pillow on a CrossBreed Holster

  1. Unload and remove the gun from the holster.
  2. Take off any CrossBreed wedge that’s on the holster now.
  3. Clean the body side of the holster with the included alcohol wipe and let it dry.
  4. Stick the loop strip on the lower third of the body side, toward the muzzle end.
  5. Press the pillow on, thicker part toward the muzzle. Our adhesive reaches full strength after 24 hours, so give it a day before heavy use if you can.
  6. Wear it and check standing, sitting and bending. The grip should tuck in, and the holster’s bottom edge should be cushioned instead of pressing into you.
  7. Tune the fill. More fill tips the grip in further; less fill is subtler. If it pokes when you sit, move it up toward the trigger guard. Our wedge placement guide has the details.
